Tom Laffey

Tom Laffey is Technical Director of ISHEM, a global independent consultancy, where he is the senior technical resource for ISHEM Inc, ISHEM Ltd and ISHEM Pte.

After being awarded a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Oxford Tom began his career in water treatment in the research laboratories at Albright & Wilson in 1990. His career has included time working for water treatment companies and facilities management companies before joining ISHEM in 2018. Tom’s experience includes supporting clients with both UK and global water management programmes including legionella risk mitigation.

Tom has been a member of Council since 2008, has been in the role of Honorary Treasurer since 2017 and is also a tutor for the Society.  Tom sat on the LCA Management Committee from 2019 – 2023 and, is the Vice Chair BCA Water Treatment group.
